Gold Hill
A mining town in far western Tooele County that boomed twice, emptied twice, and sits near the end of the Pony Express road.

Gold Hill is unincorporated, close to the Nevada line, and about as far from anywhere as Utah gets. It boomed on gold and copper, then again during the First World War on arsenic and tungsten, then emptied both times.
Standing structures include commercial buildings, mine workings and scattered housing. Some of it is private property and some of it is simply unsafe, which in an arsenic mining district is not a figure of speech.
It makes a natural end point for the western desert crossing, reached after the Deep Creek section of the Pony Express route.
